Why is Homekit Automation limited to 4 hours

I tried to turn on an iHome outlet at a specific time and have it turn of after 6 hours and found it was limited to 4 hours.

Tried to cascade a first automation to "turn on" with a never turn off; and then a second automation to "turn off" at a specific time. The device hangs and goes offline every time.

Why doesn't Homekit offer a simple automation with a turn on time and a turn off time?

Hello JDDFW,

The articles below can help you set up and use automations on your iPhone:

We're not seeing any mention of automation time limits, however.

Have you tried a different accessory, to verify if the limit is with that particular accessory?

Another thought, do you have any other automation which might interfere with the limit being over 4 hours?

If you're still having this issue, we'd advise to contact iHome support. We found this page which may get you started: iHome Support

Best Regards.
