The status light blinks slow then fast then slow

Kept getting the black screen upon trying to turn on my Apple TV. Every time.

Step 1 to try on some online article was press 2 certain buttons on the remote then unplug the TV and replug.

I have a Sony TV w the Apple TV box.

i pressed and held the 2 buttons on the Apple remote. A menu screen appeared then a green screen then dark and the box light started flashing rapid as mentioned in the article. Next step was unplug the tv which I did.

I’ve plugged it back in and the box has been flashing slow about 5-6 times then rapidly maybe 5x. The Apple logo flashes occasionally on the tv screen.

it’s been about 15min. Wasn’t sure if it’s software install or what. The list of flashing light indications doesn’t mention fast then slow meaning.
