Difference in Type of Cable

What is the difference between a Lightning cable and a Charge cable? It's for the iPad 12.9" (sixth generation). Any explanation would be greatly appreciated!

Lightning cables are used for both charging and data transfer. Many models of iPad - and all models of iPhone, use a Lightning cable. Lightning cables will either have an older USB Type-A (rectangular) plug, or a newer USB-C plug.

Without specific context, references to a “charging cable” merely implies a cable used for charging a device.

Recent models of iPad and iPad Pro (such as the sixth generation iPad Pro 12.9”) all have USB-C connections - and are supplied with both a 20W USB-C Power Adapter and a USB-C to USB-C charging/data cable.
