How to rename external displays in order to avoid continue display arrangement errors?
Since I begun using my new macbook pro with m1 chip with my 2 HP Z23n external monitors, is that each time my mac go to sleep and I re-wake it, the order of the external monitors changes and I have to re-set the correct order kinda 8-10 times per day..!!
In addition to that, I've got two working desks: one at my office with my mac on the right of the 2 monitors and one at home with my mac on the left of them.
Note that both of my desks are equipped with the same 2 identical HP Z23n monitors (yes, I've got a total of 4 identical HP monitors).
In this case, when I go work I have to set the position of the mac (settings\display\arrange) @ right, while when I go home I have to re-set it on the left.
Both @home and @work I use an external usb-c port replicator with 1 HDMI port to connect one monitor, while the second one is directly connected to the HDMI port on the mac.
I'm assuming that this "issue" is caused because of MacOS doesn't assign a unique name to each monitor, so what I'm asking here is: is there a way to univocally identify all of those 4 identical monitor, in order to help the system to
memorise and don't forget the correct position when my mac just goes to sleep
memorise the correct position of the monitors @work and @home?!?!
That would be wonderful
Couple of details
MacOS Ventura 13.0.1
Macbook pro 18,3 (14" with M1 Pro)
4 HP Z23n 23" FHD displays
Thanks for your help!!
