I followed all the instructions to go to iCloud, Preferences, and Account and found the account email alias I would like to delete. However, when I click on the email, it does not give me the option to delete or turn it off. Where do I go from here?

You can't change/remove @iCloud.com, @me.com or @mac.com addresses unless it is an alias you created after the Apple ID was set up. For more information, see the articles below.
