Album artwork mixed up after upgrade to IOS 16.1.1

I am currently running MacOS 12.6, iTunes version 1.2.5.7 and just updated to IOS 16.1.1 on an iPhone 14Pro Max. Now all of my album artwork on my iPhone is mixed up, displaying the wrong album cover for albums. All of the artwork on my Macbook is correct. Is there a solution for this other than deleting all the music and resyncing? I mean is this Windows in the early days or what???

Hey haldelage,

If you haven't already, we, suggest closing the Apple Music app, restarting the iPhone and then checking again.

For steps on closing an app, follow the steps below or click here: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch.

  1. "From the Home Screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle of the screen.
  2. Swipe right or left to find the app that you want to close.
  3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close the app."

For steps on restarting, follow the steps below. The steps can also be accessed here: Restart your iPhone.

  1. "Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
  3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo."

If you continue to have the issue, contact Apple Support here: "Get Support".

Take care.
