Is there a Thunderbolt hub?

Since I've already bought 'the wrong thing'...

My Mac has two Thunderbolt ports, but I need more. I bought a thing that fits but doesn't work, thanks to the ridiculous fact that different cables fit in the same slot.

So: is there a way to connect more (LaCie external drives with Thunderbolt) to my Mac?

Thanks!

iMac 27″, macOS 13.0

Sure, Rene van den Abeelen…

there are lots of them… but as far as I know, only for USB-C ( Thunderbolt 3) … haven’t seen any for Thunderbolt 2 or original Thunderbolt… there might be some out there, but I haven’t found any…. Actually, I’d recommend you get a powered Thunderbolt 3 dock rather than a hub… the dock offers you more ports, more versatility, and because it’s powered, Thunderbolt things that are plugged into it will work better than with a hub… i don’t know exactly what year and model of iMac 27” you have.. so can’t say for sure what version of Thunderbolt you have on your iMac… or on your LaCie external drives… if you have an older version of Thunderbolt, the way to deal with that is to buy a Thunderbolt 3 to 2/1 converter/adapter… Apple sells one, for sure, and others might do so…

hope this helps you
