Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue with your AirPods Pro. We'd like to help.


Typically, your AirPods will update the firmware on their own so there is no reason to have to do it manually. From the article you came from, do you see a different firmware version in your Settings? You can check it by following these steps:


  1. Go to Settings
  2. With your AirPods connected, Click Bluetooth
  3. Tap the Info button  next to the name of your AirPods
  4. Scroll down to the About section to find the firmware version


The current version for AirPods Pro 2 is 5B58. Is that what you see? If it's not, please make sure that you have the latest iOS or iPadOS on your device as this is how your AirPods will receive the firmware update: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
