In Logic 10.7.4 when I use varispeed even 2% no audio is played. My tracks are not in record mode and I am not input monitoring any tracks. the project is both audio and midi. Any help would be appreciated

I'm on an older version of Logic 10.4.8 so items may not be in the same place.
As a Test. Under Logic's Preferences/Audio "General" tab, deselect "Input monitoring only for focused track and record-enabled tracks. Also uncheck Software Monitoring.
I am testing and so far it seems to have worked. Input monitoring and software monitoring off.
