i lost my Apple Watch, it was showing up so we pinged it and then all of the sudden it’s not showing up again when I finally have time to try and find it again.

Once the battery runs out and the watch is no longer connected to a network, it can't be tracked. That means you don't have a long window of opportunity to find a lost electronic device.
