Band release button doesn’t depress
I can’t push down the band release button on my Apple Watch in order to remove watch strap

Don't force it. If you tried all the steps in the 'Change your band' section of:

Then at this point, I think your best options are to contact Apple Support or, if possible, make an appointment at the Genius Bar in an Apple Store near you and let them look at it. Either way:
