iPhone ONLY Nginx error 404 on most websites

Hi folks.

I've gone through most of the reading I can find on this subject but I can't seem to figure it out. Just about every website I try to load on my iPhone13 results in a "not secure" message, then when I try to load anyway, I get some Nginx error 404 message. This is irritating, as some of the sites I'm trying to access worked fine a few months prior. Again, let me restate, it's not just one website, it's nearly all of them. Apple.com works fine. Google works fine. Everything else will not load. I've tried switching to the Chrome app on my phone and the results are the same. I simply do not have internet browsing capability on my iPhone.

To make matters more perplexing, my PC, which uses the same modem as the phone, experiences no issues like this at all. I've tried turning off the wifi on my phone and the issue is fixed - but I'd really like to figure out why the wifi is a problem here.

Once again: The same websites work fine on my PC, which uses the same modem (one of those Comcast, wifi-enabled modems).

I've tried all the troubleshooting steps on Apple's site - including restarting my phone, making sure javascript is turned on, and clearing my history. I'm open to more suggestions. Thanks for your time.

Hey there, Zintense,

Thanks so much for using Apple Support Communities.

It looks like this issue may pertain to a server-side issue in the way certain sites are configured. Since it's happening on multiple web browsers, it would suggest that the issue is either with your network or the iPhone itself. In order to troubleshoot the network, you could try restarting all of the hardware provided by your internet service provider (including any modems or routers you use) and then testing the issue again. This would help determine if the issue is indeed related to your network connection.

If that doesn't do the trick, you could also try resetting your network settings. This article has the steps to do that: Return iPhone settings to their defaults - Apple Support. This would refresh all of your network settings and may resolve any network issues that are causing this unexpected behavior.

We hope this does the trick for you!

Cheers.
