How to recover text message in iOS 15 ?

If you sync messages with iCloud in iOS 15, once deleted, they are gone. If you don't sync messages with iCloud, they would be in a backup, if you regularly backup. iOS 16 brought a change where deleted messages go to a recently deleted folder, which you can then restore from up to 30 days after deletion.

You have to have a backup that still has the message that was later deleted.

If you deleted the message before the backup of 24 hours ago, the backup would have picked up that action and the message would have disappeared from the backup.

Not possible to recover just one message from a backup, you have to restore the entire backup.....everything.....back to the phone.

Bottom line.....unless you have iOS 16 or higher installed on your phone, if you delete a message by mistake, you have to restore from a backup.......before.....the next backup runs.

Did you check to see if you sync messages with iCloud?

Open Settings > Your Name, Apple ID, iCloud > iCloud > Show all > If messages are turned on, then any message you deleted is gone and will NOT be contained in a backup

By restoring it from a backup created before deleting that message.

No backup = No recovery, sorry.

To do that, you need to download a 3rd party app from AppStore (i.e. iPhoneBackupExtractor or iMazing)
