Numbers

I have Catalina. Suddenly I'm asked to update Numbers to a version Catalina doesn't support. I cannot edit current spreadsheets. What's the deal??

Maybe your computer is giving you a sign that it's time to update your macOS.

To have the best experience with Numbers you need to keep your operating system and hardware reasonably up to date.

The Mac App Store should suggest the latest version of Numbers that you can run on your hardware and operating system.
