macOS Ventura external display off after OS sleep (usb-c)

after upgrading to MacOS Ventura, my external display connected via USB-C staying off, after MacBook goes to sleep. (can't wake up with keyboard or mouse)

I have to open the lid, disconnect USB-C monitor and plug-in again. Each time.

Hi tomasD2,

There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

  1. Confirm that you are running the latest version of macOS Ventura. Currently, it is macOS 13.0.1. Check out how to update your Mac here: Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support
  2. Confirm there is no damage to the cables. You can also test with a different cable to ensure it is not isolated to the cable itself
  3. Confirm with your display manufacture there is no firmware update available that may need to be installed

Check out more information here: If your external display isn't detected or appears blurry when connected to your Mac - Apple Support

Have a good one!
