Adjusting the volume while on a call or listening to a whatsapp voice note

Hi there, I seem to be having some minor issues with my phone (I didn't have these problems on ios 16.1 on my 13 pro max. Basically, what is happening is, when I'm on a phone call, with the phone to my ear, I can't adjust the sound/volume of the call while it's on my ear BUT if it's on speaker phone, I can. Same with whatsapp voice notes. Is any one else having this issue? Basically I can't adjust any sounds while on a call with the phone to my ear, the side volume buttons don't do anything while on the call. Please help!

Hey! I have the same problem. Have you already solve it?

I've noticed, that this problem appeared after I accidentally turned on a voice message during regular phone call.

I can't made louder or lower volume during voice messages until my last call to Apple support. I tried to show to Apple what is the problem and i dont know how but I turned 20-30% of volume.

Now I can listen to voice messages but with fixed volume. The problem is still on. I cant adjust volume when screen is locked during phone calls or during any voice messages: viber, what's up, telegramm.

If someone knows how to fix it - please contact me

If Settings - Sound & Haptics - Ringtone and Alert Volume Change with Buttons is turned on it should work with the iPhone next to your face. You should also post this question over in the iPhone Support Community for additional help:
