Problem on Brother DCP-1610W

I have updated MacOS to Ventura on my MacBook 2017 and iMac 24". After the OS update I can't use scanner function (via WiFi) on Brother DCP-1610W (previously it worked perfectly), but printing via WiFi is still OK. Then, I removed "printer" and re-added it. It worked until I shut down my computer. When I opened my computer, the same problem occurs. Now, anytime, I want to scan. I have to removed and re-added. Would you please suggest why the problem occurs and how to fix it? Thank you.

Reset the printing system: Reset the printing system on your Mac to solve a problem - Apple Support

That you can scan once seems like there might be a wider issue, either with the Mac, or with the local Si-Fi network.

Reset the Wi-Fi router, and check that for any vendor firmware updates, and try again.

Any add-on first-few-hops VPN client apps, any add-on security apps, add-on :cleaner” apps, or related? If so, remove all that using the vendors’ instructions, restart, and try again.

Hi MrHoffman,

Thank you very much for your prompt assistance. I agree it may be the wider issues on either Mac or Brother. I try your suggestion, but the problem still persists.

I use iMac at home, but bring my MacBook to workplace. Both locations have Brother DCP-1610W. One evening, I updated MacOS on both machines at home. Then, I brought MacBook to my workplace, I could print via WiFi, but I had problem on scanning as described. Maybe, something wrong with the WiFi, I thought. Then, I brought MacBook home, well, I could print via WiFi but could not scan. I tried iMac, and faced the same problem. Then, I removed printer and re-added on both machines, it worked just only one time. I tried several times with several combinations (switching off printer, shutting down Macs, etc.). The problem appears consistently. So, at the moment, if I want to scan. I have to remove printer and re-add, every time.

Brother's driverless software, iPrint-iScan, has very less features, so it is practically useless.

Many thanks,
