If I don't wear my watch for a day or a few hours, when I put it on it starts delivering all of the texts I received during that period (which I have already read and responded to on my phone.) Is there a way to stop this, it is extremely aggravating?

In the Watch app on your companion iPhone, do you have Messages set to mirror your iPhone or as Custom? Are you receiving notifications for each message that is coming in when this happens?
If you haven’t already, let’s also be sure to have you restart both your companion iPhone and your Apple Watch. A basic step but it’s going to refresh the connection between the two devices and the software. They don’t need to be restarted in a specific order, but you’ll want to be sure to restart both of them.
Is there any type of Focus set up that would restrict the ability of your Apple Watch to receive messages during a certain period? Use Focus on Apple Watch

Thank you for your reply. I have restarted both devices. This happens when I haven't worn my watch for a while; there is no Focus mode on, just a lack of wearing it. I receive a notification for every text that came in during the period I wasn't wearing it. My settings are set to "mirror my iPhone."
