iPad software update greyed out

I use a 9th gen iPad. Even though I’m connected to Wi-Fi, the software update says that I need a Wi-Fi connection for the update and is greyed out.

Yes, this is expected behaviour. The device is presently connected to a hotspot. This will not work for an iOS update.
