Sidecar constantly disconnecting or unstable

This was working perfectly a month ago before I updated to this Ventura trash. This is the last time I'll be an early adopter of any Mac software. MacBook Air M2 with iPad Pro 10.5 (2017), second generation. Both are running the latest software, connected to the same WiFi network. I keep on getting the following errors:

  • "Lost connection" the session will resume automatically when the connection improves
  • iPad disconnected "miscellaneous error -401"
  • The iPad disconnected from WiFi

I've already reset Bluetooth on both, handoff on both, restarted both devices. Toggling firewall did nothing. Disconnecting WiFi did nothing. All of the basic fixes have been tried. There should be no interference since the items are sitting next to each other. It does the same thing in safe mode.

The conclusion I'm drawing is this is yet another issue that has slipped through Apple's quality control.

Found 2 things.

  1. Use a Thunderbolt Cable to connect my macBook to iPad, it become very stable. Without any freeze or disconnected few days, instead of 5 times per day.
  2. Don't expect Apple CS will help here! Call Apple Support directly. Or search 3rd partly forum.
