Family Member Airtag

Is there anyway to mute notifications that an unknown AirTag is following you if you actually know whose AirTag it is.

my wife and I both have AirTags. One of mine is on my key ring. When my wife and I go out together my wife will get a notification that an unknown AirTag is travelling with her. Except it isn’t an unknown AirTag it is mine.

It seems a fairly obvious situation to be able to deal with. Maybe I am being stupid but I can’t see an obvious way to do it.

In theory, according to the Apple support articles, you can disable these notifications permanently is people are set up to be in the same family in the iCloud settings, but it is not working at all for me. It’s driving us positively nuts!

I suspect it’s a but somewhere in iOS…
