Why is the search not working in Books? Is this just me?

Clicking on the "X" in the top left corner does nothing. Searching for new titles does not refresh page. I restarted the computer and was left with the same result after searching again. Any help?

Cannot open books in Apple Books: "formatted incorrectly" On my iMac I cannot open any books (nor samples) in the native Books app. Dialogue box says: "Cannot open book. It is formatted incorrectly or is not a format that Apple Books can open." I restarted he computer. Updated from Monterey to Ventura, etc. and no success. Books do open on my other devices. I have hundreds of books I read on the Mac. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks.

iBooks - Purchased book not working Hello, I recently purchased the book, All the Colors of the Dark but I am only able to read 48 pages (up to chapter 16). Has anyone else had this issue with the same book? I’m so confused.

See if it works in Safe Mode. Then start in normal mode and retest.
