No way to tilt Apple Maps and cannot zoom in close!

Supposedly there is a slider on the lower right hand corner of Apple Maps that would allow me to change the tilt. But there is none, and can find no options for showing it or not showing it.

All there is in the bottom right hand corner is a circle with arrows in the four compass points that can be moved left or right, and with a button in the middle to switch between 3D and 2D. I thought perhaps that the button can be tilted, but no go.

Also, it is not possible to zoom in very close at all to objects. What's with that? Why does Apple limit the tilting and the zooming in? Makes no sense.

If the ability to tilt is not in the Catalina version, then the Maps Help on how to tilt won't help.

What is meant by Zoom being limited by the satellite images available? The images are available. I just want to be able to zoom in close enough to make them out better, instead of them being kept pretty distant.

Thank you.

The ability to tilt is in Catalina. It just doesn't use the slider. If you read the help file it explains how.

It means the satellite images are as close as they could be.

The slider is in later versions of Maps. To see how to tilt the 3D image in Maps, read Maps > Maps Help.

Zoom is limited by the satellite images available.
