Apple Pencil doesn’t work in some areas of the screen

Hello everyone,

I have a 2018 iPad pro with a 2nd gen Apple Pencil. I’m having a problem where the Apple Pencil does not respond to certain strips or squares on the screen about 1/2 to 1 inch wide. While the display and touch works completely fine in these sections, the Apple Pencil does not respond. I have tried restarting my device, re-pairing the Apple Pencil, checking for updates and even changing the nib and trying a different Apple Pencil yet nothing seems to fix this issue.
