HomeKit Automation Now working

Hi All,

I recently purchased some Apple HomeKit smart plugs to cut down on our power consumption.

I have created 2 new automations to turn on and off the plugs at set times of the day, but for some reason the automations don’t work?

Hi Myatix,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today.

We'd first suggest making sure you have updated to iOS 16.1 to eliminate being related to using an out-of-date iOS: Update your iPhone or iPad.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, we'd next advise deleting and setting up the automation again which may resolve the issue for you. Please see: Create scenes and automations with the Home app

"Turn off or delete an automation

To enable or disable an automation:

  1. Open the Home app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac and go to the Automation tab.
  2. Tap or click the automation.
  3. Turn Enable This Automation on or off.

Tap or click Turn Off to choose an amount of time to turn off accessories in an automation. For example, if you create an automation that turns on the lights when you arrive home, you can have the lights turn off after an hour.

To delete an automation, tap or click the automation, then scroll to the bottom and tap or click Delete Automation. On your iPhone or iPad, you can also swipe left over the automation and tap Delete."

Finally if the issue remains, please contact Apple Support.

Have a fantastic day!
