How to hide the dock on fullscreen automatically?

I want to make the dock and mouse invisible while playing Minecraft but it won't go away. I've looked at lots of tips on how to do it, from Apple and otherwise, and nothing has worked. There was an answer that I thought would be useful but it was from 2012 and so was way outdated. I'm using MacOS Monterey 12. Thanks for your answers in advance. Keenan 🙂

Hi Ananimouse,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. The Dock should automatically hide on full screen when the correct preferences are chosen. If you haven't already, use the steps below to automatically hide the Dock when you're not using it:

  1. Go to the Apple menu
  2. Choose System Preferences
  3. Click Dock & Menu Bar
  4. Make sure "Automatically hide and show the Dock" is checked.

Take a look at the following resource for more information on Dock preferences: Change Dock and Menu Bar preferences on Mac - Apple Support

If the Dock still remains on the screen, let us know if this only occurs when using Minecraft. Be sure to include any other steps that you may have tried.

Cheers!
