Issues importing photos from finder after Ventura update

After updating to Ventura, photos no longer imports photos located in Finder file. Anyone else have this issue and a solution? Have rebooted iMac to no avail.

Photos App looking for original photo files Hi! I have a recent problem with Photos app, likely to be linked with today's Sonoma update. I have 3 libraries: 2 on my local drive (M3 MBP) and 1 one an external SSD. I've been using the Photos App for several year now and I always follow the same pattern: I dragged the photo file (raw+jpg) to the app but kept the original files on an external drive. The drive was not connected to my laptop and I was still able to edit my pic in the Photos app. As I understood, this was not necessary, as the pics dragged into Photos would be "incorporated" into the library file. I never had issues until today, when I suddenly get the message: "Photos cannot be opened if the original files associated with the photos are not available. The original photo "IMG_4926.JPG" is offline or cannot be found. Click on "Find original" to reconnect." If I attach my external SSD, everything is fine. But this is obviously not the way to go, I don't want to keep about 1TB of photos "duplicated" on my Mac (i.e. both in individual folders and the Photos App). Any idea?

Mac photos will not import any photos I'm using the Mac Photos app to manage my photo library and when I'm now trying to import my photos it will not do anything. The progress wheel remains grey and it will remain that way forever. Using: Mac OS Ventura 13.0.1 MacBook Air M2 2022 Photos 8.0 (511.0.180) What I've tried so far: Checked if my drive is full (it isn't) Import different file types (.HEIC, .JPEG, .MOV) Import individual & batch Import using an iPhone, the MacBook drive and an external SSD Copied the Photos library to an external SSD and tried from there Rebooted my MacBook and checked for updates None of these options seem to be working. The photos library works perfectly fine otherwise, but I cannot add any content to it for some reason. What can I do to solve this problem? Thanks in advance. photos not showing on my iMac On my iMac...my photos are on an external drive but not connected to the photos app and not showing on my computer.

I restarted my iMac. Moved one photo file to the desktop versus from the file location I normally import and Photos did import that one file. I then went back to my normal file location and imported the photos successfully, however, I did it in batches rather than all at once. So maybe the problem was associated with the quantity of photos I tried to import. Haven't tested that theory. In any event, after rebooting and importing from a different file location all seems back to "normal"

How are you doing the import. Have you tried file>import?
