WhatsApp delay when selecting photos in messages

When I take photos from iPhone native camera, then go into WhatsApp message and select that photo, there will be a delay of around 8-9 secs before the photo is selected for sending. However if I were to use the WhatsApp camera function within the app itself, there’s no such delay. This problem only started when I moved from iPhone 13 Pro Max to 14 pro max. My friend who’s upgraded his phone iOS from 15 to 16 also started having the exact problem as I do. I don’t know what to do…..
