Click ‘Done’ (or Cancel in later versions OS) to dismiss it.
It is automatic and can’t be turned off. QuickTime Player will show an Open dialog box, where you can select QuickTime files to open. It will show you the last used folder. It may initially show to QuickTime folder on your iCloud Drive (i.e. on Apple’s servers). Use the sidebar options to navigate to other locations.
You can open local files (on your hard drive) using drag-and-drop, e.g. to the QuickTime Player icon in the Dock. Then you wouldn’t see this dialog box.
You can open files that are designated to QuickTime Player, by double-clicking the file icon. Then you wouldn’t see this dialog box.
