macOS Ventura taking forever to install

I am installing the Ventura on my MacBook Pro M1 and it seems to be taking forever. I just did the same on my 2019 iMac and it was super easy and fast.

On my MacBook after downloading the installer, starting it, agreeing to the terms and selecting the hard drive, it starts with a waiting time of 2 hours and 57 minutes (my iMac started with 59 minutes) - and after a few minutes of waiting it went up to 10 hours and 24 minutes and then to 11 hours and 13 minutes.

I restarted the MacBook and ran the installer again and the same is happening... any ideas on how to solve this? Help is appreciated!

Hi leroydouglas, thank you for your recommendations.

Unfortunately when running the upgrade while in Safe Mode the same thing happens... it starts with 2 hours and 57 minutes... and doesn't move a bit after 10 minutes waiting... until it goes back to show 10 hours and 24 minutes.

Any other ideas to work around this?

Try a booting and logging into Safeboot mode and try again your upgrade macOS install
