Apple Carplay randomly disconnects

Hi, I have a Kia Niro PHEV 3 which uses wired carplay only & iphone 13pro, IOS 16.1. Carplay connects OK but keeps disconnecting at random intervals. Usually reconnects when unplugged and plugged in again but not always. Tried various leads and another iphone (same model and IOS) with same result. Contacted Kia who say the problem is not with their hardware of software…… they say contact Apple support. Anybody else with similar issues please??
