Sierra on my 2012 Mac Mini
Can I use Sierra on my Mac Mini from 2012? When I go to the App Store there is no upgrade. I have the installer and am therefore wondering if this is safe to use.

If you've had it a while the installer might be out of date and may not have a certificate to install. You can re-download a Sierra installer or, better still, a macOS 10.13 High Sierra installer from How to download macOS. Make sure you use Safari.
However, a 2012 MacMini can go as far as macOS Catalina 10.15
If you decide to install Catalina first read Catalina - an upgrade guide - Apple Community by a brody. There are several considerations to ponder. If some of the points raised in this user tip make you hesitate perhaps you could instead go for MacOS 10.14 Mojave. Again, read a brody's user tip Upgrading to Mojave (Mac OS 10.14) - Apple Community

Or how about High Sierra?
David, excellent, thanks. I can't go higher than High Sierra as my old faithful InDesign CS5 won't work above that.
