stage manager

Just upgraded to Ventura and was trying out Stage Manager. My problem is I have a lot of full screen windows, and the Stage Manager shelf disappears. I thought if you move the pointer to the left side of the screen the Shelf is supposed to pop up but it doesn't. I thought Hot Corners might be interfering so I turned it off but still no luck. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Thanks in advance.

Stage Manager does not come up when I hover over the left edge of the screen on my MacBook Pro (Intel). So I have to leave a small sliver of desktop visible, and clicking on it brings it up. (If I turn on Desktop Items for Stage Manager, this stops working.)

I've run through all settings looking for anything that has a "hot spot" of the left edge of the screen and can't find anything. I've turned off Default Folder and other similar extensions and nothing.

I REALLY want this to work with the left hover so I can use full-screen-width windows.

Hey there, same here.

My mac model: 2020 M1 Macbook Pro.

It works normally on desktop num. 1 - after turning the computer ON and OFF. But the problem persists on desktop num. 2, 3...

My current fix is - making the stage manager visible at all times in the settings. (Stage manager>Customise...>toggle the redent apps ON)

However I like the simplistic view of having the black screen and I would like to hover to the side to show my stage manager.

Hopefully apple will fix this issue soon.

Best regards,

N.

Hi Gang,

I think Stage Manager isn't a bad idea but I have other screens connected to the left. This means that when I have applications open full screen, I can't just slam my mouse into the left edge to open the hidden Stage Manager because the pointer just keeps on going into the next screen. A keyboard shortcut would be helpful to open Stage Manager, otherwise it's not really helpful when running multiple monitors and it's better just to go back to command-tab switching or the traditional dock (which can be configured with a keyboard shortcut). Otherwise all my windows have to be re-sized to allow for the Stage Manager and in that case, a function that re-sizes all windows at once to allow for the space required by Stage Manager needs to be considered. But I think my preference is for a command to show the hidden Stage Manager when windows are full screen.
