Yes, I am using the Apple external drive to play cd's and I swear I used to be able to use my Airpods and my Sennheiser headphones while listening to cd's. I listen to cd's to decide which tunes to add to my playlist and I would rather not add an entire cd and then edit it. My Airpods and headsphones work with my playlist
I was hoping for a simple go here and uncheck that or check this type of solution but apparently there is not.
Another unrelated problem: when I click About This Mac and then click Storage, the window pops up and then disappears after a couple of seconds. It works if I use Safe Mode but when I get out of Safe Mode it happens again. I like to use Storage to get rid of large files I no longer use.
I'm running OS Monterey 12.6, I have Daisy Disk but Storage was handy for some things

Hello dokkentime,
Your profile indicates that you're using an iMac 24" running macOS 12.6. As this version of Mac does not include an optical drive for playing CDs, it's assumed that you're using an external drive to read and play these. It may be that this drive is treating your Mac as an audio output option, which may not pass through your Bluetooth connection to paired AirPods. Try the steps from Import songs from CDs into Music on Mac to import these tracks. Imported tracks would then play on your output device, i.e. the AirPods directly from the Mac.
Regards.
