One-click pause screen mirroring on M1

On Monterey 12.6, I use the control center to mirror my screen via beamer. If I briefly want to look something up that should not be displayed, is there a faster way to pause mirroring than disconnecting and reconnecting via the control center? Or is there a way to exclude certain apps from being shown?

Thanks

If your beamer/projector is connected as a regular display:

Command-BrightnessDown will toggle the setting of [√] Mirror Displays.

Hello schmunzelmonster,

This page can assist with using AirPlay to stream the Mac's display: Use AirPlay to stream what’s on your Mac to an HDTV - Apple Support

1. Make sure your Mac and Apple TV are on the same network.
2. Click Control Center  in the menu bar, click the Screen Mirroring icon , then choose your Apple TV.
3. If asked, enter a four-digit code on your Mac.
4. To set whether your desktop mirrors or extends your Mac screen, click the Screen Mirroring icon , then choose Mirror Built-in Display or Use As Separate Display.

In this case you may try using it as a separate display.

Cheers.
