I set Up new iPhone 14 Pro, but cannot call or text

My old iphone SE 2020 is still working and I am able to call using it. I backed up its data to the cloud, and transferred it to my new iphone 14 pro (I think, actually, it transferred via Quick Start). So I can check Twitter and use apps on the new phone, but I cannot use the new phone to make phone calls or send texts. What is my next step? If anyone can link me to a step-by-step guide, I would be grateful. P.S. My plan is to reset my iphone SE 2020 to factory settings and give it to my husband so he can replace his Android.... Thanks!

This is because the active cellular service SIM card in still in your iPhone SE 2020. There is no cellular service in your iPhone 14 Pro. You cannot move the SIM card from your iPhone SE 2020 to your iPhone 14 Pro. You can do that with older model iPhones but not with the iPhone 14 Pro if purchased in the US. This is because there are no SIM card trays in the iPhone 14 Pro models that are sold in the US. The iPhone 14 Pro models, sold in the US, only work with an eSIM (digital or electronic SIM).

So, how do you transfer cellular service from your iPhone SE 2020 to your iPhone 14 Pro?

You will have to contact your carrier and have them move cellular service to your new iPhone via an eSIM. Once this action has been completed and cellular service is restored on your new iPhone 14 Pro, then you will be able to make/receive phone calls and use the SMS text messaging service.
