text notification on watch and iphone

How can I chnage my settings to receive a tone notification on my watch and iphone when I receive a text. Right now I get it on my phone when unlocked and my watch when the iphone is locked. I want to receive the message on both

Why won't my iphone give audible notification of text when I'm wearing my apple watch? Why won't my iphone 12 give audible notification of text when I'm wearing my apple watch? I have missed texts when I am engrossed and don't notice the vibration/sound on my wrist. I want my iPhone to give me an audible notification when a text comes in, even when I am wearing my Apple Watch! How do I do that? Thank you.
