Is it possible to download other content providers app on the Apple tv hardware?

Downloading apps is supported on Apple TV (4th generation or later), not on older models.
The current devices have an on-device App Store, much like iPhone or iPad. The older models do not have that feature.
Sure. Many popular streaming services, networks, and cable companies offer apps for Apple TV.
