Finder sidebar

Hi, custom-added items in the finder sidebar keep disappearing from time to time. This is not just happening with Google drives. Deleting the finder plist file in library/preferences folder may do something in the short run but it requires to set up finder anew and add back all items that were "forgotten" in the first place. This has been going on for years and happens several times a year -- very annoying. Why can't Apple fix this?

I have a couple of network folders that disappear if I haven't connected to the server in a long time. Other than that, I have never seen items disappear from the Sidebar.

Is there anything in common about the ones that disappear? Are they network shares, in one particular folder--perhaps synced by Goolag Drive or other system. I never keep iCloud Drive folders there, so if it is those kind of folders, that may be why I don't see it. I don't use any other cloud storage.
