Can i use e-sim in the 2nd sim slot and use my primary sim in the 1st slot when I move to INDIA ?

Hi, I am in Sydney , Australia and planning to use an iphone with dual sim, as I have an INDIAN Airtel sim - 4g, its a nano sim physical one. I know Apple has dual sim with e-sim in the primary slot and the secondary sim (Airtel) in the 2nd slot, but I would like to know how can I use this iphone 14 when I move to INDIA - as I need to use my primary sim Airtel in the primary slot and need to use my Australian e-sim in the 2nd slot - Is it possible ? If not, can I just change the settings in the iphone to use 1st slot as secondary and 2nd slot as primary without swapping the sim slots ? I am not sure on how to make it work, I just want to know if its possible so that I can go and purchase it. As I travel a lot and not only INDIA etc., I might need to use the swap where ever I travel like Dubai, the USA etc., I have an android phone, where I use the new sim in the 1st slot where ever I travel. Is it possible in the new iphone 14. Please advise. Appreciate it. thanks.

Hello Daniel555,

This page here can help out with providing helpful information regarding using Dual SIM on the iPhone: Using Dual SIM with an eSIM - Apple Support

In particular, the following from that link may be of use:

Set up another cellular plan on your iPhone

All iPhone models that support eSIM can have multiple eSIMs and use Dual SIM with two active SIMs at the same time.

You can use Dual SIM by using a physical SIM and an eSIM. iPhone 13 models and later also support two active eSIMs. iPhone models without a physical SIM tray support two active eSIMs.

Learn how to activate a cellular plan on an eSIM.

With regards to using eSIM while traveling internationally, this page is designed to provide information on that topic: Use eSIM while traveling internationally with your iPhone - Apple Support

•On supported iPhone models, you can use two eSIMs at the same time. For example, you can include one eSIM for your home and another eSIM for the place you're visiting. As with a physical SIM, carrier fees might apply. Contact your carrier for information.

Cheers.
