Moving Tab to Other Window Doesn't Work

When I click and drag a tab to another open Safari window, the tabs make room for the new tab as if it will be placed there along the other tabs, but when I release the mouse the tab reverts back to the original window.

Hey there, ChayBlay,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities. Based on the description of the issue, we have a few steps we'd like to offer to help isolate and troubleshoot the issue. The steps below combined will either resolve the issue on their own, or at least get us more focused on what is causing the issue. Try them in order, testing between each:

  1. Close Safari: Quit apps on Mac - Apple Support and restart your Mac: Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support. Then, launch Safari while holding the shift key on your keyboard.
  2. Turn off, or completely uninstall, any Safari extensions following How to install Safari extensions on your Mac - Apple Support
  3. See if you can replicate the issue in safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support
  4. See if you can replicate the issue in a new user: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac - Apple Support

Don't hesitate to respond back if the issue continues.

Cheers!
