I almost always have unread email messages so there should almost always be a badge on the mail icon. But on my new iPhone 14 from time to time all badges on all apps will suddenly disappear only to return at a later date. This keeps happening over and over again. How do I fix this issue?

Badges are turned on for all apps that I want badges. The settings are apparently correct because there were badges on those apps before. Then they just disappeared then returned the next day. They disappeared again before I posted my question, but now they have returned again the next day.
Any idea why the badges disappear before returning the next day?
