How to Get Apple TV Slideshow Photos in Screensaver to Randomize

I use Apple TV Screensaver on my TV to show MyPhotos from an album with 5000 pictures. Previously the photos would randomly draw from ALL the 5000 photos. Now the photos always start at the same place in my photo album and I see the same grouping of photos every time it goes to screensaver. Very annoying. I want it to randomly pull from all 5000 photos. It basically randomly draws from the first 100 or so photos. Help!!! I have Apple TV Model A2169 (64GB).

I tried this unsuccessfully. I also talked with someone from Apple Care for an hour and they were not able to determine a remedy. It’s frustrating because this is one of the reasons I purchased the Apple TV and it worked like a charm in the past. Something has changed recently such that it no longer randomizes all my pictures; it only shows the first 100-200 in my shared album.

Oh, I've been seeing the exact same thing, starting concurrently with the update to TV OS 16.

It's indeed annoying, as about 90% of the use of my Apple TV (and of my main television itself) is for that photo screen saver, which is now, for all intents and purposes, broken.

To now see that I'm not the only one experiencing this at least confirms for me that this is a new bug that Apple needs to fix, and not something uniquely broken in my configuration.

Hello PVS1000,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. We recommend to change your screen saver to a different option in Settings > General > Screen Saver. Restart your Apple TV and have your photos set for the screen saver again. From there, let's test to see if your photos will be randomly selected through your screen saver. This is a troubleshooting step that may help to refresh your Apple TV.
