The Region setting for this device cannot be used for APPLE Pay

So I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max. The region in my Apple ID account is Canada. My bank cards are from TD BANK. I am trying to add my cards but I keep getting the error message “CANNOT ADD CARDS. The region setting for this device cannot be used with Apple Pay”

  1. iPhone 11 Pro Max is compatible with Apple Pay.
  2. Canada is a supported Country (Region)
  3. My phone is running the latest iOS
  4. My card issuer is TD Bank Of CANADA. And the bank app supports Apple Pay.

how can I overcome this hurdle?

Hi Georgedax,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We understand you're running into an issue using Apple Pay. We're happy to help get this resolved. Start with a restart of your device and test if this continues. A restart is a simple step that can resolve a variety of concerns. See how to restart here:

1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo.

See more about restarting here: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

If the issue persists, reach out for further support here: Contact - Official Apple Support

Thanks.
