Im running MacOS X el Capitan 10.11.6 2007 24 inch and i can't upgrade to any newer macOS. Im I doing something wrong? Please type your suggestions on what to do about it, cause honestly i've been trying to upgrade to any other newer Mac.

Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade to any version of macOS newer than OS X El Capitan on your old iMac. If you need a newer version of macOS, you’ll need a new Mac: Mac - Apple.
