I’m trying to use my Apple Watch to take a pic on my iPhone. The first step is to supposedly:
Open the Camera Remote app on your Apple Watch
I say supposedly because my watch doesn’t seem to have the Camera Remote app. Is this something that has to be additionally installed?

With the time showing on the watch facepress the crown and to see all available apps on the watch. Is Remote there? It is on my Ultra and was on my S6 watch. It can't be removed and is not listed in the list of App on the Watch app on my phone.

I’ve already tried this as well. When I go to the Apple Store on my watch, I easily find Camera Remote, but there is no download link available. It says iPhone required. And I get the same results when I go from my iPhone.

You mean you have this setup for a family member w/o iPhone. In that case the Remote app is not present on the family member watch:

It's in the apple watch store,search for "camera remote",it was top of my search list.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It's possible that the Camera Remote app was accidentally removed from your Apple Watch. Use the steps below to see if you can download the app again:

Thanks much for that suggestion but I’m likely not going to try that. I have this setup as a stand-alone watch and the first time it literally took T-Mobile 4 hours to get it activated and working right.
So, followed all of the above steps, and get no further than step 3 - when I tap My Purchases, only two apps appear (Daily Random Facts and Soundhound). So no other apps appear, and no download showing for anything.
Is it your phone and when you setup the watch was set up for myself selected?
Are these features/apps missing from your watch to?
The following features and apps are not available: Health data sharing, respiratory rate, irregular heart rhythm notifications, ECG, Cycle Tracking, Sleep, Blood Oxygen, Podcasts, Audiobooks, Remote, News, Home, and Shortcuts.
No, I’ve already checked it and the app isn’t there.
Is there a way to tell if it is setup as a family member? Is a stand-alone watch also a family watch?
