Is my iPhone useless?
My iPhone is disabled, and as home button is broken so I cannot enter recovery or DFU mode. I am about to throw it away so is there anything else I can do to get it working again

With the 6S, it appears that you do need the Home to recover from the phone being disabled:

Therefore, your only option would be to have the Home button repaired:
Only you can decide if the cost of the repair is worth it for an old iPhone.
