If Multitasking, then Most Certainly:
RAM plays a big role in multitasking. So, if you were to run many, many items at once, then he more RAM, the better. I have 32GB on my 2018 MBP, and it's never, ever slagged. As for my 2017 MBP, it has 8GB of RAM, and I use it simply for browsing the web, or watching a movie(and that's never slagged, either). So, it really depends on what you want it to do.
