Is Iphone 14 USA compatible in Italy?

Do you know if Iphone 14 purchased in USA is compatible in Italy? The 5G chip of the Iphone in USA could have problem with the Italian 5G networks?

The topic of the discussion is: to buy an Iphone 14 in the USA and use it in Italy? The connection to the network is different but above all the US 5G is different from the Italian one?

I would kindly like this post to be commented by competent people on the subject.

Today I asked the question to 3 different Apple operators and each of them answered me in a different way:

he replied it absolutely works

he replied that there might be some problems connecting to the Italian networks

he replied that there could be problems with 5G as in the US 5G is super fast or mmwave while in Italy it should still be sub-6.

The last answer is the one that intimidated me a little more. Can a US model iphone that is compatible with 5G mmwave networks have problems with slower networks like the Italian ones?

looking at the specifications of the two models Iphone USA and Iphone ITA they seem identical to me:

Don't do it.

If you intend to use it in Italy, buy it in Italy. Even ef the carrier you want to use in Italy supports the eSIM in the iPhone 14 sold in the US, you would have no warranty in Italy and would to be able to get it serviced there even if you paid for it.

Technologically, a USA model should work with no problem in Italy. If it didn't, nobody would be able to roam. The only caveat is the SIM. It seems that USA model iPhone 14s have no physical SIM capability. If you need the flexibility of a physical SIM card, you should not buy the USA model. If you need two physical SIM cards, Hong Kong/Macau/China is your only option.

As far as service, I have never had trouble getting service, even warranty service, performed in any "first world" country. There are limitations as to what service a foreign service centre can perform, but the services most frequently required, like battery or screen replacement, are readily available everywhere.

Another thing to be careful about if purchasing in the USA is to be absolutely certain that your new phone is not SIM locked to a US carrier before you accept delivery. Also be sure that the phone is not configured to lock to the first SIM registered to it.

Thanks for your answer, my problem is not the warranty and absolutely not the esim because in Italy we have telephone operators with Esim, I would like to know a really technical aspect that is to know if the Iphone purchased in the USA will work and will NOT have incompatibility problems with the connection to the Italian networks and the 5G connection as I have read that in Italy 5G travels on different bands and that in the USA they use different antennas than to the Italian ones.

It is to be understood if iphone 14 USA may have some problems in some Italian territories as it was created for different 5G bands.

Honestly, comparing the USA model A2560 and the ITALIA model A2890 I see that the ITALIA model shows all the types of 5G bands that are shown in the USA model which obviously supports many more. For this reason I don't think there are any connection problems. What do you think?

Given that all of the Italian bands are covered on the USA model, and if you can confirm that the phone you plan on purchasing is 100% SIM free, you should have a very happy life with your new iPhone 14. Good luck.
