Minimizing Windows, Automatic select

Kind of a random question, but is there an option to automatically open the window underneath a recently minimized window? Say i minimize a window, and the next one to open is Microsoft word. Is there a way to be able to just start typing on Microsoft word without having to click on the window? This drives me insane when i am constantly switching between windows and just one to minimize time.

THANKS!

One last thought, if you "hide" (command+H), an app instead of minimizing its window, the app underneath should be active.
